Bioplastics and more bloom at Chinaplas 2012

In its second year and renamed the Bioplastics Zone, a section of Chinaplas 2012 dedicated to renewable materials and green manufacturing is expected to be 40% larger than the inaugural 2011 version. Show organizer Adsale say exhibitors in the space will include Cardia, Danisco, Ecomann, Esun, Hisun, Kingfa, Metabolix, NatureWorks, and Nuvia, promoting renewable materials like PLA, PHA, PBS, PPC, PCL, PVA, TPS, PA, and PTT.

In addition, the 4th International Conference on Bioplastics and Applications will be held concurrently with Chinaplas 2012. Like the last edition held in 2011, speakers from the leading bioplastics suppliers will be invited, with global and Chinese plastics associations also continuing to support the conference.

Also returning are the Rubber Machinery & Equipment Zone and the Korean Pavilion, with a record 12 pavilions planned for the Shanghai New International Expo Centre for April 18-21.

Adsale noted that the "relaunch" of its Rubber Machinery & Equipment Zone in 2011 received and "overwhelming response" and will be back again in 2012 at double the size. Exhibitors that have confirmed their participation include Tung Yu, Desma, Yang Ming, Double Elephant, Hengwei, Ningbo Chap, Shanghai Deren, Yuyao Huacheng, and more, with exhibits including rubber processing and testing equipment, as well as dies and molds.

The Korean pavilion is back for the first time since 2009, for good reason. Adsale noted that for the first half of 2011, Korea was one of the top 10 importing countries of Chinese plastic machinery. Located at Hall N4 of the Expo Centre, the Korean Pavilion can be accessed by going through Entrance Hall 3.
