Cast-in Heaters for Plastics Extrusion Equipment

Durex Industries’ cast-in heaters for extrusion equipment feature liquid or air-cooling options and are primarily used as a high-performance heating and cooling source for plastics extruder barrels. Constructed of aluminum or bronze alloy, the cast-in heaters use a tubular heating element, which is said to distribute heat evenly throughout the casting. The inner diameter is precision machined for an exact fit to the exterior barrel. Various termination options are available for any extrusion application, including stud terminals with ceramic insulators, stainless steel armor cable, or explosion-proof housings. Cooling tube terminations include compression fittings and cast-in threaded fittings for quick insulation. Shroud assemblies with blowers are available for air-cooled fin designs.
