The Society of Plastics Industry (SPI; Washington DC) has reached a series of agreements with trade media outlets that cover Latin America in a bid to augment the participation of Latin American plastics professionals at NPE 2012 (Orlando; April 1-5, 2012). The deals include the third edition of Seminars in Spanish series, co-branded with the pan Latin American publication, Tecnologia Del Plastico, as well as Conversion, and NPE. The Spanish-language track of conferences was well received at NPE 2006 and 2009, with greater Latin American attendance expected in Orlando.

The parties also reached an agreement on a promotional advertising campaign for NPE2012 with Tecnologia Del Plastico, whose long-standing publication reaches 14,000-plus qualified plastics processing professionals across 20 countries in Latin America, plus more than 20,000 consumers of its electronic media. There will also be multimedia advertising programs in Conversion, El Empaque, and Reportero Industrial to better reach the package manufacturing, printing, and converting industries across Mexico, Central and South America, and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Finally, the agreement also calls for an electronic advertising program in Brazil-focused Noticiario de Equipamentos Industrias-NEI.

Tracy Cullen, Senior VP of Communications, Marketing & IT Services of SPI, stressed how important the Latin American market has become for NPE. "Historically, the greatest percentage of our international visitors has come from Latin American countries," Cullen said. "NPE's move to Orlando is well timed with Latin America's expanding manufacturing base making this growing region even more relevant and important to the global plastics industry."

Alfredo Domador, VP of Marketing & Operations of Publicar-B2Bportales said in a release that his company is "very excited to see how this important trade show organizer is placing special interest in Latin America, the region we commit our efforts to."
