Has anyone here used this system. Could you give me a ballpark price on a basic kit. We intend to use it for just mold protection. You would not belie

The Avalon system is good but
The Avalon system is good but I think it got sold, and it's now on a different name. There are new systems out there, Keyence, DVT just to name a couple. There is also a what is called a vision sensor that do not require a monitor (it's programmed thru a laptop and then you can remove it after it's set). The cost is also a lot cheaper than the vision systems.

I really like the Avalons.
We used one on a tool that had a cashew gate that would not eject consistantly. If I remember correctly, to fix the gates, add the downtime and such was somewhere in the 20's. I believe the Avalon came in around 8500.
It saved a ton of money. Oh yea, It apparently works better after dark. Since the press was under a SKYLIGHT!!! Alarm hell.
I had a Reps. card but can't find it. I'll keep looking and get back with you.

True enough about fixing the ejector problem, many moons ago when we used old IMM's that only had positive stop KO's mulitple bumps was not an option unless you added hyd cylinders with a power pack lol :o)
RE: Avalon vision system
We used one in a company I worked at, and it was great for a super- delicate mold. I think the unit cost $10,000USD. I think they may have come down since then. They can save a lot of money and downtime on tools where regular mold-protection isn't enough.
I saw a unit in action at a place where a friend worked. They still had 4 KO strokes on the press. Kinda funny, seeing how it had a vision system.
It is always good to fix a part sticking problem at it's root cause though. Parts shouldn't need multiple ejector strokes, or be sticking to begin with, though I recognize that sometimes there is a "killer design".
