disposable chrome forks and spoons

Does anyone know how disposable forks and spoons with a shiny coating similiar to chrome are manufactured ? I know they are injection molded but how is the coating put on ?

electroplating / vacuum metalizing with a clear overcoat. BUT as Brent says beware of the FDA, Consumer Product Protection Agency etc. unless you're in china where they don't have those laws.
