double color injection molding

First off, what method of 2K molding will you do? There is the sliding core, rotating platten or mold, and cavity transfer method.
Now you have to decide on press design. Side by side, over/under, second unit through the back door.
Decide on second injection point. Parting line, manifold, bushing location (side or rear of mold).
ALL of these must be known, but much of this depends on part design.You would be better off hiring someone that has done this before, at least until you get the first one up and running. Often times it is not easy to separate the two resins for recycling!

Two color mold designs are available in books.

In the process of two colors molding there are several processes that can achieve the desire appearance. There are some that perform better and more repeatable than other and there is some that can create the effect with out using two resins. (ie: In mold decorating)
In order to make the best part possible and the least scrap the are two processes available; co-injection with rotational mold using two injection units one horizontal and another vertical, there are other configuration that are use for over molding that can be use/adapted the horizontal and the other at 45 degrees and co injection side by side. The other process for two color would be over molding the parts where the base part is mold and place on another mold to be over molded with the other color, in this process the over molding can be repeated and many times as desire.
