There are platable grades of Acetal. Not sure if it's the homopoly or the copoly or if glass will work. Can't speak for the durability of the plating on Acetal either. This could be a good application for two shot molding and selective plating (GF Nylon or Acetal in the hinge area, and plated ABS or ABS/PC for the rest of the housing). I would probably give that serious consideration. Tough to beat the strength and design flexibility of Mg though, huh?
