LPDE became rock in Compactor

I work for a plastic re-cycling company. Recently, I attempt to re-cycle the LDPE (contains shopping bags and trash bags) in Extruder. My colleague set the compactor’s temperature at 75 C (167F).

Suddenly, Machine motor made noise and smoke came out. Upon examined the motor, we did not find any fault. Then we re-set the machine and tried to re start the extruder. Compactor could not rotate.

In the mean time, we found the all material in compactor became a solid rock! We tried to raise the temperature in compactor to melt the material but it became harder. Then we started to cut the material by woodcutting and then metal cutting blades using the electric hacksaw. We cut the martial almost 45% yet!

Note: We ran different type of materials including the LPDE, had no problem.

My question is what was the reason that above said material became hard that caused the motor jam?

Is that temperature or too much material in compactor? I suspected the same material has been stuck in all barrels of extruder.

Please write me the reason and correct temperature to melt the material in compactor and all 5-barrel zones. Thanks.

Habib.
