Material Drying

I understand that dessicant beds rotate at a timed interval to keep dry air moving to dry material.  My question is..do different materials require the beds to rotate at different rates?  We have a glass filled nylon material we are struggling to both dry and keep dry and all I can get out of maintenance is that the dew point reads correct so there isn't an issue with the dryer.  Any insight would be appreciated!

Dear, First of all pl. note

Dear,

First of all pl. note if at all the dryer functions are ok or not. If the dryer is working ok as per electrical/electronics side then you may check all the mechanical parts. A small leakage in drying/regen air may cause a huge loss to the output quality.

Further to say it will be better if you will say which brand and what type of technology are being used in the dryer. if it is two chamber or 3 chamber type or rotary bed or valve type. So pl. specifye the product so then i could help you out.

You should check to make sure

You should check to make sure the return air going to the bed is below 120F. If it isn't....you need to add chiller coils. One major OEM brand we were using was poorly designed. We traced the problem to the return air temp. Once we got it down below 120F, the desiccant was much more effective.

H ow are you confirming the

H ow are you confirming the drier is working? How do you know the resin is wet? Is this a single or multiple blower drier? Singel blowwer units may struggle with the humidity up and with nylons. Is the drier and hopper large enough for the throughput? Confirm the residence time.
I place a dew-point monitor in the supply line of the drier. You need to confirm dew-point reading, and note which bed is in use.
You may find that there are one or more beds bad, or the drier is waiting too long before changing beds. I have had to change the time a drier waited before rotating the beds. It waited until the current bed was saturated before changing.
How do you move the resin to the machine? What is the residence time in the machine hopper? How wet is the resin when you open the container?
