Thank you for the post you

Thank you for the post you made. You raised some good points but some were contestable. I learnt a lot from your article.

Hans you are right. I think

Hans you are right.
I think it is not conflict between out-sourcing to China and earn money/develop your company. because market in China indeed save you lots of money as long as their techonology and quality is almost as yours.

After you company earn more money, you can use those money to creat many new jobs.

Interesting situation we find

Interesting situation we find ourself in, i started in the trade back in 1963, back then it was considered an art besides a trade, High Schools taught all kinds of trade skills back then, Manufacturing brought our country to the highest standard of living anywhere in the world, we can still be the best and be competitive if we WANT to.

Build a Mold that a Mold Processor can process properly is the only way to go.

Quality above all is most desired by all.

I agree and also I believe

I agree and also I believe That that there are great manufacturing facilities here in the US and for all of those companies that are sending plastic injection molds out of this country to be built are not looking into even their own futures. If we do not find a way to bring manufacturing back into the US we will all be out of jobs. Larger corporations do not realize that they are outsourcing their own jobs and it will bite them someday.

RE: MOLD MAKERS BEWARE

Bill,

I think, there are two ways US mold maker can choose:

1. Building mold more precise, more complex, faster! Do the things chinese guys can not do!

2. For the normal mold and a little bit complex molds, US mold maker can adopt marketing in USA, service in USA, making in China! then American can earn much money, and Chinese too.

I'm a sales executive working for a mold making and plastic injection company.

RE: MOLD MAKERS BEWARE

I can understand your frustration bill however my experience will lead me to disagree with you. I took out ads in IMM a while back and ponied up for a year long contract for a stiff price. I only received one inquiry from this means of marketing and the inquiry was a complete kook who wanted to pay about half shop rate for just a few hours of work.
I feel that this industry is all about relationships and thru building the relationships and gaining trust gives you a strong foothold with customers along with offering compeditive prices. The older I get the more I realize that core business is still done the old fashion way and develops over time.

Just my .02
