We are using pc material for electricl cover plate, some of our customers are using cookong oil and some vegetable oils while wiring for lubrication purpose, later on these oils come in contace with pc material and results in cracking. Can anyone suggest the solution for this?? Any other materil or blends can be used? Aesthetic is important and some tets like glow wire of 850degree celcius and ball presurre test of 125degres it should pass.

But we cant able to get

But we cant able to get glossy equal to that of PC, and glow wire of HIPS is 850 celcius?? We are looking for better oil resistance material with good asethetic properties.

Tell your customers to stop

Tell your customers to stop using cooking oil & start using wire pulling lubricant. Some of these contain Polyethylene and Polypropylene Glycols and should not affect PC. These lubricants can be obtained from electrical supply houses such as Graingers. Usually HIPS is the material of choice for electrical cover plates. HIPS has similar chemical resistance as PC.

Hope this helps.
