Purging compounds

We are using PC and POM materials for our production. So i need a good purging compound to clean screw and the barrel. please suggest good one for it.

I have a solution - Clean Plast. Check out the website at www.cleanplastpurge.com. Best stuff out there. Email or call if you want a free sample to test it on your machinery.

I would try going to the company's websites to check out what they recommmend for a particular application. I know that the Purgex line just launched a new website www.purgexonline.com which seemed pretty helpful in getting the right compound for our application.

I tried Ultra Purge Low-E for my transparent PVC working machine. Normally this machine was working with %10-15 scrap because of small black and brown specks over the part altough we are using liquid cleaning chemical.

We cleaned the barrel 1 time. With start of production most of products had specks again. We cleaned the barrel 1 time more. A big pollution came out from the barrel. However specks did not disappeared. It was the same as before. Maybe we should have cleaned one more time. But people I work do not have patient

I am going to try a grade of Ultra Purge at Monday for our black specks on PVC. I will tell the results here.

Try Clean Plast CP-H purge compound. It is a ready to use purging compound. It removed black speckking carbon deposits and I could purge it through my hot runner manifold and valve gates. I recommend this purge compound product line to anyone. Their number is 317-770-3680.

Try Clean Plast CP-P or Clean Plast CP-H. Clean Plast is a new purging compound to the US market, but it has been widely sold in Europe and Asia for many years. I am glad I found Clean Plast Purge Products.

We change colours on our presses several times daily and have found purgex 2000 to be very useful. Also if you are using pp, look at what polymer you are purging from, ie polycarb, keep your melt temps as high as possible to drag it from the barrel, people put parameter into the press too early before the purging stage and try purging using lower temps. This can leave previous material in the barrel. Remember to mix the purgex with pp as purgex is very stiff and can clog up your screw if over fed.

Thank you very much guys for your help can you people tell me that " i have a 700 ton machine with barrel that holds a 22 Kg of PP-20glass filled, how much will the purging compound cost me to get rid of that, along with that i want to run PP-PE co polymer in biege color". Please need help.
