What's your thoughts on Wittman Sprue Pickers?

I've been using 2 W602 and 1 W702 for about 5 years, both are solid and have no issues. I have no complaints.

This is kind of like buying a new car - Nobody particularly makes a 'bad' sprue picker. The cheap ones are cheap.

The real challenge you have (again like buying a car) is not the base purchase. That is simply limited to size. What YOU (not your teenage daughter/Spouse) have to decide is what and how many bells and whistles you want.

Some people buy sprue pickers to pick sprues only. A low expense and limited but highly reliable functional use. The Big-Guy picker manufacturers view the picking of the sprue as only a basic function. You can buy them where the end of arm tooling will do assembly after degating the sprue from the parts, flex hinges, work with vision systems to insure quality, load inserts, trim gate remnants (hot air, flame or mechanical clippers), and blah, blah, blah. With these high end 'bots most have a library of programs, some even have a teach mode but they are all relatively easy to set up.

If you only want to drive to work, buy a cheap motor cycle. But if you want to drive to work, listening to a 10-gig MP3 stereo, environmentally controlled, a sultry voiced GPS telling you when to turn, television rear vision, with a ride more comfortable than your bed - type of transportation; many companies will build you one.

Think Purpose Built - define your purpose, then pull out your checkbook.

Hope this helps.
