Atlanta debut for one-step SBM machine
Published: August 19th, 2010
Nissei ASB Machine Co. (Nagano, Japan) will demonstrate its newest one-step stretch-blowmolding machine, the ASB-150DPW, during the 26th annual SPE Blow Molding Conference October 5-6 in Atlanta. Conference attendees will have an opportunity to view the new model during a demonstration session and lunch Oct. 6 at ASB headquarters in Atlanta.
The ASB-150DPW will be demonstrated running a 14-cavity jar mold and producing 3360 bottles/hr. The machine demonstration is also supported by DAK Americas (PET resin), AF Compressors (HP compressor), and Universal Dynamics (resin dryer). This new model boasts twice the productivity of the single-row model for both narrow- and wide-mouthed, small-to-medium-size containers. The ASB-150DPW has the same footprint as the ASB-150DP model but features a double-row configuration, doubling the cavitation to a maximum of 36 compared to 18 on the single-row machine.
The ASB-150DPW can make containers ranging from 50 ml to 1.5L at an instantaneous rate of up to 10,800 bottles/hr depending on design and cavitation. Targeted applications range from small hotel-amenity, liquor, and energy-style containers (50 ml) to wide-mouth containers for peanut butter, mayonnaise, and toys. ASB is selling the new one-step machine globally and expects 12 orders in the current fiscal year ending September 2010.
The annual blowmolding conference, sponsored by the SPE's blowmolding division, will be held this year at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia Hotel. As a complement to Nissei ASB's machine demonstration, attendees will receive guided tours and demonstrations at Atlanta-based Consolidated Container Corp., a leading manufacturer of rigid plastic containers.
