The Combipac system of thermal shrink film protection of pallet unit loads from Beumer (Beckum, Germany) is designed for rapid heating of polyethylene film to about 180°C, which allows the film molecules—tensioned during processing—to return to their original chemical structure. Such shrink films provide safe transport, storage, and packaging of palletized items. The Combipac E uses electrical heading to cover and shrink films in thicknesses from 40-200 µm in package dimensions from 1200 x 800 mm to 1350 x 1150 mm. It is a fully automatic packaging machine and can be integrated into existing palletizing systems. Placement of the film hood and heating of the shrink film is achieved by a ring-shaped frame. It moves in a vertical plane and is equipped with warm air generators. Capacity is up to 40 packages/hr.
