Wabash MPI (Wabash, IN ) has debuted an upper tilting platens for easy mold access on its range of compression molding presses. The tilting platen allows for the mold to be cleaned as needed, in some cases between each cycle, dependent upon the application. Applications needing frequent cleaning may include silicone molding or other molding applications requiring access to intricate mold cavities.
The upper tilting platen is hinged on the front and is moved hydraulically, tilting 45° and exposing the upper mold half. This gives the operator better access to quickly and easily clean the mold. The upper tilting platen option is available on nearly any size Wabash compression press.-immeditorial@ubm.com
