Steel and copper alloy core pins

A special high-temperature, high-pressure diffusion process is used to join copper alloy and steel in Hasco?s new steel/copper alloy core pins. The pins have a copper alloy core with a hardened H-11 steel casing; the heat conductivity is said to be up to 10 times better than traditional tool steel, thanks to the copper alloy. The steel casing doesn?t affect the conductivity properties. Hasco reports total cycle time savings of up to 50% and improved part quality with use of the pins. Due to the softness of copper alloy, core pins of this type traditionally couldn?t be used as ejector pins, but the Hasco pins have a surface hardness of 52 Rockwell C. They are manufactured with ejector pin tolerances, so they can be used as ejector pins with or without ejector sleeves. The pins are available in diameters from 2.5 to 6 mm and lengths from 125 to 350 mm, with custom sizes also available.?KH
