3D printing is a hot topic with no signs of cooling down. According to the report by Transparency Market Research, the 3D printing materials market was valued at $450 million in 2013 and is likely to reach $1,432 million by 2020, expanding at a CAGR of 18.0% during the forecast period from 2014 to 2020. Plastics were the single largest product segment of the 3D printing materials market, accounting for over 48% of the market in terms of volume in 2013.
Our sister publication Packaging Digest, recently wrote about the popularity of 3D printing and showcased six articles that involve 3D printing, which scored well on its site analytics. For example, one of the articles involves a bioplastic printing material, which merges two hot topics in packaging.
