Dyna-Purge partners with 3Dom to launch purging compound for 3D printing

The Dyna-Purge Division of Shuman Plastics Inc. (Buffalo, NY) has partnered with 3Dom USA (Fargo, ND) to service the rapidly growing 3D-printing industry with a new grade of Dyna-Purge purging compound.

Dyna-Purge 3DomThe partnership with 3Dom, a distributor of 3D-printing filament and materials, will introduce Dyna-Purge 3D Clean, a non-abrasive, non-chemical, engineered thermoplastic purging compound specially formulated for 3D printing technologies.

The compound is designed to purge all resins used in 3D printing, said Dyna-Purge in a news release. It can be used before or after printing a part for color or resin changes, especially when composite materials such as glass-filled nylons are being processed, and for preventive machine maintenance. The cleaning formulation has a processing temperature range from 320° to 575°F (160° to 320°C).

Available in 8-in. strands and packaged in a clear cylinder, Dyna-Purge 3D Clean is simple to use, says the company, adding that it is safe and non-hazardous, with no chemical additives. The ingredients are FDA compliant.

"Dyna-Purge 3D Clean is ideal for a variety of 3D-printing applications including plastic prototyping, multi-color 3D prints, low-volume production and others requiring multiple color and resin changes for a range of fused deposition modeling systems," said Tim Cutler, Dyna-Purge Vice President, in a prepared statement.
