3B-Fibreglass (Battice, Belgium) owns two fiberglass manufacturing plants in Europe that formerly were part of Owens Corning. Its Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with Nanocyl is aimed at work to realize fiber reinforcements that combine glass fiber with CNT-based sizing. It is anticipated that such reinforcing fibers could help processors of thermoplastics or thermoset parts to form stronger, lighter parts with better mechancial performance.
Nanocyl has made plenty of moves of late to further establish its CNT fillers in a host of end-use markets, including an agreement early this year to promote its NC 7000 multiwall carbon nanotubes (CNT) and Plasticyl thermoplastic concentrates into the German automotive market. —[email protected]
