Affordable additive accuracy

Engineered for achieving gravimetric additive feeding accuracies, yet available at prices comparable to volumetric feeders thanks to its use of cost-effective venturi-style loading systems, new MGF Series feeding systems from Maguire Products Inc. (Ashton, PA) are available with throughput capacities up to 35 lb/hr.

?The MGF feeder is the first gravimetric system to cost no more than a volumetric feeder, and the new loading device is actually less expensive than other loaders used with feeders, whether gravimetric or volumetric,? says Frank Kavanagh, Maguire?s national sales manager.

The loader rapidly and thoroughly fills the system?s auger feeders only after ?receiving a signal from the feeder?s control that additive levels have fallen to 10% of its hopper?s capacity. Loss-in-weight measurements track and adjust for errors, so tight-tolerance dosages are delivered shot after shot.

Its networkable microprocessor control allows you to easily enter dispensing parameters. The control also makes the corrective adjustments necessary on its own when it spots any setpoint drift. Its software even enables the MGF to adjust for screw slippage or changes in rate, and the control also adjusts metering to compensate for the vibrational effects of fast-cycling presses.?CK
