Aurora Plastics Inc. (Streetsboro, OH), a manufacturer of high-quality PVC compounds, announced brand names for two of its major product lines: AuroraLife PCV cellular foam and AuroraShield PVC/acrylic capstock.

The AuroraLife product line is composed of rigid cellular PVC foam compounds in the 0.35 to 0.80 density range, reportedly one of the lowest in the industry. These materials are available in both free-foam and Celuka-based formulations. The end result is a lightweight, yet durable profile suited for an array of interior or exterior applications including decking, railings, garage and wall trim, arbors and pergolas, as well as for custom use, according to the company.

The AuroraShield line includes PVC/acrylic capstock compounds that provide long-term weatherability and resistance to water whitening, especially in darker colors. From a manufacturing perspective, these products process with the ease of PVC but provide the weatherability of acrylic, explained Aurora. It gets applied thinner, which results in significant bottom-line benefits for Aurora's customers.
