Denmark's Blue Ocean Robotics establishes U.S. office

Blue Ocean Robotics (Odense), a Denmark-based provider of automation products, announced the opening of operations in the United States with an office located in West Chester, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. The new office enables the company to provide emerging robotics solutions, sales and services to the healthcare, education and manufacturing sectors.

This announcement follows what the company claims is a “strong performance of Blue Ocean Robotics in Denmark and positions the company for entrance into the U.S. market.”

Claus Risager, co-founder and partner of Blue Ocean Robotics, said, “We are extremely excited to be entering one of the largest economies for robotics technology. Our expanding global footprint is a tribute to the talent and commitment of our employees and our partners.”

The U.S. company will operate under the name Blue Ocean Robotics LLC and will be led by industry veteran Timothy DeRosett. Prior to joining Blue Ocean Robotics, DeRosett was Director of Strategic Initiatives for Yaskawa Motoman, a division of Yaskawa America Inc.

Blue Ocean Robotics was founded in 2013 and designs and develops next-generation robotic solutions and services that improve human quality of life, working environments and productivity, said the company. It has designed robots for assistive living applications and upper-body rehabilitation as well as exoskeletons.
