QuickShots single-dose purge compounds come in individual packets, which operators simply drop into the feed throat or hopper of their machines. They work with all resin types and plastics processes, including injection molding, extrusion and blowmolding.
The new additions to the QuickShots product line are QuickShots HD (heavy duty), which has glass prills mixed in for extra cleaning strength, and QuickShots SP (pellets in a pouch), including a new ½-ounce version, suited for lab lines and small runs. Some processors prefer pellets over liquid, explained Nick Sotos, President of iD Additives.
“QuickShots has been extremely popular since we introduced it to the industry in 2017,” said Sotos. “Based on customer demand and feedback, we decided to add these new options to the product line. [QuickShots] not only simplify the purge process, they also reduce cost as you only use the packets you need for each application.”
Typical dosage is 1 ounce per 1 inch of screw diameter, so a 6-inch screw diameter would require two 3-ounce QuickShots. No soaking or temperature adjustments are necessary.
