If your company is making progress in its efforts to process plastics sustainably, then it’s time for some well-deserved recognition. The Plastics Environmental Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers is seeking nominations for its annual Environmental Stewardship Awards.
These awards will recognize businesses, educational institutions or other groups that have demonstrated environmental leadership and excellence through significant achievements in one of ten categories. The achievements must involve plastics.
Categories receiving awards includes ones on plastics recycling technologies and applications, development of plastics from renewable resources, new environmental technologies in conventional plastics materials, designing for sustainability, and more. A complete list can be found in the Environmental Stewardship Award Nominations PDF at the Division’s website. Nominations must be received by November 30, 2009. The awards will be presented at the Global plastics Environmental conference (GPEC) scheduled to be held March 8-10 in Orlando, Florida.
The Plastics Environmental Division also is looking for technical, business and marketing papers for presentation at the GPEC conference. The Call for Papers link is available here. Abstracts are due by October 30, 2009, with final papers requested by December 1, 2009. —[email protected]
