Big machine leads to oversized savings

Article-Big machine leads to oversized savings

For large scale blown, cast and biaxially oriented film extrusion lines the need to economically reuse post-production waste will only rise as the price of polymer does too. The XT recover systems provide suction and grinding of edge trims that can be fed back into the production stream. Model 160-60, the largest in this series, provides a throughput from 1200-1500 kg/hr. The XT grinding chamber has an inclined cut to allow the intake of heavy and trimmed scraps. The chamber itself is made of anti-wear steel that contains a 3-knife-rotor with scissors cutting configuration. An alternative is a 5-knife-rotor with arrow-cutting configuration. The entire unit can be opened for inspection and maintenance without the need of special tools. Tria SpA, Cologno Monzese, Italy; +39 02-273-451; www.triaplastics.com
