Berry Plastics Corp. (Evansville, IN) will invest $8.8 million in its Peosta, IA blowmolding operation, adding equipment, creating 12 new jobs, and expanding the building, with completion slated for the second quarter of 2011. The facility produces injection blowmolded, extrusion blowmolded, and stretch blowmolded bottles for the healthcare, food, and personal care markets.

Berry, which operates 70 plants around the world, has two in Iowa, with the second facility in Bettendorf. The blowmolding unit of the company offers custom bottles in addition to a line of stock bottles in HDPE, PET, PVC, LDPE. and PP. Bottle sizes range from 1 to 576 ounces. On Sept. 24, Berry announced its chairman and CEO, Ira G. Boots, would retire effective Oct. 4. Boots will be replaced as CEO Jonathan Rich, the president and CEO of Momentive Performance Materials.
