Flame retardant pbts for thinwall moldings

New Celanex 14 Series grades of polybutylene terephthalate show improved performance and processability. The new grades include two unfilled and three glass fiber-reinforced types that incorporate halogenated flame retardant additives. The material''s intended for connectors, housings, relays, switches, motor end caps, and other electrical and electronic applications.

Ticona says they can be used in very thin-walled components, since the 30% glass-filled grade meets the UL94-V0 specification at .39 mm. Plus, all grades are said to provide 15% to 20% greater flow and 10% to 15% faster cycle times than rivals. Ticona also cites a wider processing window, greater thermal stability during processing, and better mechanical strength and electrical properties.

Grades are available globally come in natural, black, or custom colors, and they''re nonblooming. Ticona GmbH, Professor-Staudinger-Strasse, Gebaude R300, D-65451 Kelsterbach, Germany www.ticona.de
