Blow-molding machine and mold technology company Uniloy Inc. has acquired Century Die Co. LLC. The transaction closed on Feb. 15, 2022.
Based in Fremont, OH, Century Die has a 70+ year history and proven track record manufacturing blow molds for wheel, shuttle, reciprocating screw, injection stretch, injection blow, and industrial, as well as mold repairs and refurbishments and tooling for bottle handling. It received the Tooling Trailblazer Award in 2019 from the American Mold Builders Association for its work with the next generation of mold makers.
Uniloy’s current product offering includes molds for reciprocating screw machines, as well as shuttle PET molds and mold repairs and refurbishments. The acquisition dramatically increases Uniloy’s mold capabilities and gives it the industry's most comprehensive blow-molding line, said the company.
“Uniloy has been an industry leader in the manufacture of blow-molding machinery and mold manufacturing for over 60 years, and it’s with great excitement and privilege that I announce the addition of the team at Century Die Co.,” said Uniloy President and CEO Brian Marston.
Marston added that Century’s experience and manufacturing expertise in multiple blow-molding mold technologies will further bolster Uniloy’s position as a leader in molds across the blow-molding spectrum. “That’s something no other blow-molding technology company can claim,” said Marston. "We can now offer customers a turnkey solution across all of our machine platforms with molds made in house at Uniloy.”
Century Die has 65 employees at its 25,000-square-foot facility. Uniloy said that it plans to maintain all existing operations at the Fremont location and bring all employees into the Uniloy team and brand. Mold manufacturing also will continue at Uniloy’s Tecumseh, MI, headquarters.
