Blow-through rotary valve increases throughputs

Article-Blow-through rotary valve increases throughputs

The ZXD blow-through rotary valve has an optimized design that is said to achieve up to 40 percent higher throughputs, for feeding of powders into pneumatic conveying systems, compared to previous powder rotary valves. The new valves are suitable for any kind of bulk material in powder form, such as polymers and their initial additives. Operating and maintenance costs are said to be decreased because of the reduced pressure drop in the ZXD rotary valve, which leads to lower energy consumption of the pneumatic conveying system. The valve has a maintenance-free drive and quick-clean design. ZXD rotary valves can be easily integrated and are redesigned to forego use of a venting device. The valves also are said to have an optimized housing and rotor geometry, an optimized rotor volume, tuned inlet, and blow-through cross sections. The housing has been reinforced with ribs. Extras such as nonstick coatings and chamfered rotor vanes or blades let it adapt to different bulk material characteristics.
