MoistureShield enhances lineup with two innovative decking products

Co-extruded and enhanced capped boards feature moisture-resistant composite core

MoistureShieldKeeping a deck looking great throughout the summer months can be tough on homeowners. Now, Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. (A.E.R.T.; Springdale, AR), an innovator in composite decking, is enhancing its product lineup with two new MoistureShield composite decking collections. MoistureShield Refine and MoistureShield Infuse balance the proven performance and durability of A.E.R.T.’s proprietary manufacturing processes with advanced technologies designed to enrich aesthetics and revolutionize composite performance standards, said the company.

“We’ve spent years gathering trade and consumer insight to design a breakthrough in product offerings,” said Brent Gwatney, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. “These new decking lines will help our trade customers reach the broad audience of homeowners by offering attractive and durable solutions for every personal preference.”

MoistureShield Refine enhances MoistureShield’s proprietary moisture-resistant core with an added layer of protection. Refine’s integrated cap not only produces beautiful boards, it also provides enhanced durability to hide wear and tear, along with fade and stain resistance. Each Refine board provides an advanced blend of enriched natural variegation and high-definition wood-grain details, said the company.

MoistureShield Infuse features innovative CoolDeck technology that optimizes heat reflection: The boards absorb up to 35% less heat than conventional capped composites in similar colors. Thanks to an exclusive Co-X manufacturing process, these boards set what MoistureShield calls “a bold new standard in realistic wood-grain finish and enriched color variegation.”

Both MoistureShield Refine and Infuse will be available in 1 x 6 in. (nominal) deck boards of 12- and 20-ft lengths and 12-ft fascia boards. MoistureShield protects the products with its signature lifetime residential warranty and a 25-year fade and stain warranty.

MoistureShield prides itself on its extensive recycling efforts. With 95% recycled content in its products, MoistureShield’s wood-plastic-composite blends wood fiber and polyethylene. The company recycles more than 60 million tons of HDPE annually at its two recycling operations in Oklahoma and Arkansas to supply the company’s WPC extrusion facility in Springdale, AR.
