Masterbatch Pelletizer Uses Tempered Water System For Quick Cleaning

groupimage13.jpgThe MB500 masterbatch pelletizing system from Gala includes a spring-loaded cutter, touch-screen electrical control and power panel and the new MB500 tempered water system. The system is said to make easy work of color compounds and masterbatch at pellet rates up to 500 kg/hr. Gala says the system is also targeted at producers of micro pellets.

The tempered water system is designed to allow for quick andthorough cleaning between batchruns. Tank lids open for unobstructed access to the interior of the process water tank. The tank also has a sloped bottom for complete drainage and a built-in fines removal system to filter contaminants from the process water.

The centrifugal pellet dryer is mounted on a manually operated lift arm to allow it to be easily removed from the tank. This allows access to the dryer screen, rotor and base section. The pellet dryer housing is constructed of lightweight polypropylene.

Prices range from $44,000 to $47,000 depending on options, which include various types of gages, aggolmerate catchers, low-flow indicators, screen changers and polymer diverters.
