Plastics and chemicals supplier Borealis (Vienna, Austria) announced that Gerd Löbbert has been appointed its executive VP for the company's polyolefins business. He succeeds Lorenzo Delorenzi, who will leave the company and return to Belgium to pursue other career opportunities.Löbbert joined Borealis in January 2010 as executive VP for base chemicals; prior to Borealis, he held various positions at BASF, specifically in the area of pigments, polymers and additives.

Names in the News: Borealis’ Löbbert, Kautex’s Farrant, and PPE’s Hayman

Plastics and chemicals supplier Borealis (Vienna, Austria) announced that Gerd Löbbert has been appointed its executive VP for the company's polyolefins business. He succeeds Lorenzo Delorenzi, who will leave the company and return to Belgium to pursue other career opportunities.

Löbbert joined Borealis in January 2010 as executive VP for base chemicals; prior to Borealis, he held various positions at BASF, specifically in the area of pigments, polymers and additives.

At extrusion blowmolding machine manufacturer Kautex Machines Inc., Bill Farrant has been named CEO, succeeding Wolfgang Meyer, who has retired. Farrant has served in the company as business development manager for the North American market. Kautex manufactures its machines at its German headquarters and in China; the facility in North Branch, NJ coordinates sales, spare parts and service within the United States and Canada.

        PPE's Zachary Hayman

Custom injection molder Pacific Plastics & Engineering (PPE; Soquel, CA) hired Zachary Hayman to help in its account management team, working as a principal liaison between customers and PPE's production. The molder provides manufacturing and custom injection molding to customers in the medical device and biotech markets.

Prior to joining PPE, Hayman was responsible for growing the medical device divisions of Phillips Plastics Corp. in Wisconsin and Wright Engineered Plastics in California.
