PET preform analysis

(Aachen, Germany) is part of a turnkey system that can be placed directly behind an injection molding machine. Complete shots are automatically withdrawn periodically and fed into the system, where they undergo inspection at five stations. The inspection comprises measurement of critical dimensions, spectrophotometric color analysis, and analysis of the presence of UV blocker and barrier material. The system also checks the core coaxiality, measures the length of the injection point, and checks both the body and thread area for contamination, crystallization, short shots, scratches, notches, and other typical preform defects. The Sample-PreWatcher reliably reads cavity numbers and documents the results by cavity number and time of analysis. This system can also be used as an offline stand-alone setup, thus allowing use as a quality checking system to support more than one IM machine. [email protected]
