Perc Pineda, PhD, Chief Economist at the Plastics Industry Association, discusses the performance of the plastics sector in 2020 and offers insights on how 2021 might play out.

Earlier this week, the Plastics Industry Association's Committee on Equipment Statistics (CES) reported that North American shipments of primary plastics machinery for injection molding and extrusion rose by double-digits in the fourth quarter. This marks the sector's third consecutive quarter of growth, according to CES. As part of the Plastic Possibilities series, PlasticsToday editor Norbert Sparrow recently chatted with Perc Pineda, Chief Economist at the Plastics Industry Association, about the industry's resilience in 2020 and what the industry might look like in 2021.
