C.A. Picard adds machining capacity, restructures business

Article-C.A. Picard adds machining capacity, restructures business

Machine component supplier C.A. Picard (Remscheid, Germany) will boost production capacity for its twin-screw extruder wear parts business, including the addition of a five-axis machining center this July. That system will be used to produce twin-screw barrels in diameters greater than 300 mm. The company will also add new production capabilities for involute spline shafts.

Effective January 2009, all of C.A. Picard’s U.S. operations were merged into a single corporation, C.A. Picard Inc. The company maintains manufacturing in Battle Creek, MI; Belleville, KS; and Perham, MN, with sales and support offices in Elyria, OH and Shellman, GE.

Family-owned for 133 years, Picard’s fourth and fifth generation of family management in Germany turned operation of the German headquarters over to a new general management team in January 2009. At that time, Raimond Rösch was hired and now heads the extruder technology division. Josef Posniak, a 10-year management veteran with Picard, was promoted to general manager of the plate division. In North America, Mark Fink was named president of C.A. Picard Inc., with Harold Buff acting as U.S. sales manager for extruder parts. [email protected]
