Molder of caps, plugs, and protective components Caplugs (Buffalo, NY) has acquired an injection molding operation in the Pudong district of Shanghai, China, calling the new site a “platform” to introduce its products into China. In addition to stocking and molding Caplug’s standard product line, Caplugs (Shanghai) Plastic Products Ltd. will feature toolmaking capabilities. The company also made the move to support customers that had set up operations in China.

Caplugs expands into China

Molder of caps, plugs, and protective components Caplugs (Buffalo, NY) has acquired an injection molding operation in the Pudong district of Shanghai, China, calling the new site a “platform” to introduce its products into China. In addition to stocking and molding Caplug’s standard product line, Caplugs (Shanghai) Plastic Products Ltd. will feature toolmaking capabilities. The company also made the move to support customers that had set up operations in China. As part of the move, the company has launched a website translated to Mandarin at www.caplugs.cn.

Caplugs other manufacturing sites are located in Erie, PA and Los Angeles, CA, with in-house injection molding capacity from 7 to 600 tons. The company also runs extrusion lines for the production of profiles and tubing, as well as vinyl-dip molding. Founded in 1948, Caplugs parent company purchased Niagara Caps & Plugs in 2003. —[email protected]
