Cartridge heaters target high temps

For molders processing high-temperature engineering thermoplastics, a new line of cartridge heaters is designed for use in mold-heating applications. Effective at temperatures of up to 1500F, the heaters reportedly provide a long service life.

The alloy sheath of the heater is swaged for maximum compaction at high watt densities and for efficient heating element operation. To provide maximum heat transfer, the sheath diameter is sized for precision fit into drilled holes within the mold steel. Heater diameters are available in English as well as metric sizes. Also, a variety of lead configuration designs are available, including stainless steel armor and stainless steel braid for protection against abrasion, wear, and repetitive movement. To accommodate applications with space restrictions, lead configurations can be adapted to 90° angles. The heaters have obtained UL and CUL component recognition.
