Chiller resists corrosion and leaking

Article-Chiller resists corrosion and leaking

A touch-screen control panel and an optional handheld unit are new features of a line of standard and customized temperature controllers from Berg Chilling Systems. A low-watt density Incaloy heater ranges from 9 to 24 kW and reportedly resists corrosion better than copper or stainless steel. In addition, a high-capacity pump ranging from .75 to 7.5 hp, with bronze or stainless impellers, ensures turbulent flow. The pump seal is made of leak-resistant carbon Ni-Resist, which is comprised of high levels of nickel to resist warping and cracking caused by heat. An adjustable water supply pressure switch prevents operation when water pressure is low, and a bypass line protects the heater and pump if process flow is shut off. The cabinet housing is removable from the top, side, or front for easy access.
