Welltec Machinery brought a 160-metric-ton model in its new closed loop FX Series of high-precision toggles to K 2001. Its FX machines have a variable-volume twin pumping system that delivers high flow rates while saving on energy consumption. Proportional valving with feedback and full-featured Siemens controllers are among other features.
At the show, the FX ran .5-mm-thick Samsung mobile phone housings. The 160-tonner costs about $38,000. Welltec sources also told us that the company has recently introduced the Zeus series of four-motor, all-electric molding machines, available in 50 to 200 metric tons.
