Command Medical Products Inc., headquartered in Ormond Beach, FL, has doubled cleanroom manufacturing space at its Managua, Nicaragua, facility. The additional ISO Class 7 (Class 10,000) cleanroom, which was certified operational in November, will be used for device assembly, ultrasonic welding, and packaging operations. R.F. welding is slated to begin in the facility once installation and qualification of the new capital equipment is completed in Q1 of 2015, said the company.
Command has experienced tremendous growth in 2014, according to Stephanie McGee, Director of Sales and Marketing. "Expanding our cleanroom capacity in Nicaragua and optimizing our operations in both Florida and Nicaragua has allowed Command to meet increased demand and plan for continued growth in 2015," she said in a prepared statement.
The privately held company offers contract manufacturing services exclusively to medical device OEMs. Its core competencies include extrusion of plastic tubing, welding, assembly, and packaging. Certified to ISO 13485 and FDA registered, the firm also offers management of injection molding and sterilization services.
Catheters, IV tubing sets, peristaltic pump sets, and suction tubing are among the medical products routinely manufactured on a contract basis.
