Thanks to reduced space requirements of the microprocessor control, the entire control system can be mounted in a drawer that slides right into the robot?s horizontal beam. Eliminating the need for a separate control cabinet results in significant cost reduction as well as space savings next to the molding machine. A larger cross section horizontal beam also makes the entire construction more stable and minimizes vibrations during robot movement.
The robot uses a microprocessor control with the same graphical robot programming as the Wittmann robot teaching method. As an added safety feature, the Emergency Stop unit can be detached from the teach pendant in order to prevent changes to the robot program. The Emergency Stop unit provides all basic functions (Automatic Start, Stop, Manual, and so forth) for safe operation of the robot even with a detached teach pendant. In addition to programming of the robot?s motions and functions, the control enables programming of downstream equipment peripheral outputs and inputs.
