StyLight styrene-acrylonitrile composites have been rebranded as Tecatec thermoplastic composite materials.

Ensinger has acquired the StyLight thermoplastic composite materials business of Ineos Styrolution. The acquisition adds a styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) product range to Ensinger’s thermoplastic composite portfolio. SAN-based products bring new possibilities to the market such as carbon-, glass-, and flax-based fiber-reinforced grades for aesthetic, semi-structural, and over-molding applications.

The addition of Ineos Styrolution's StyLight product line, rebranded as Tecatec, reportedly will make Ensinger one of the few manufacturers able to offer the complete value chain of thermoplastic composite products.

Ineos Styrolution launched the StyLight product line at K 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Since then, it reportedly has triggered a flurry of business across a range of industries.

“The business continues in Ensinger’s experienced hands, serving the existing customer base and seeking future growth potential to enhance the company’s current position in the international thermoplastic composite market,” said Daniel Grauer, International Business Development Manager, Ensinger Composites. He will be the primary contact for all sales and customer enquiries going forward.

Ensinger has rebranded StyLight to its thermoplastic composite materials brand Tecatec.

“The addition of the Ineos Styrolution StyLight business is the next strategic building block in Ensinger’s journey to becoming one of the only manufacturers able to offer the complete value chain of thermoplastic composite products,” said Ralph Pernizsak, Managing Director, Ensinger Group.

“We are pleased to come to this agreement,” added Pierre Juan, Director Technical Product Management Specialties, EMEA, who previously led the StyLight business at Ineos Styrolution. “We are convinced that these innovative composites have a bright future ahead and we are certain that Ensinger is the ideal new home for this product line. We encourage our customers to continue working with Ensinger on their projects as they have previously with us,” said Juan.
