Plastics compounder Aurora Material Solutions reports that it has completed expansion of its Streetsboro, OH, facility, adding more than 140 million pounds of capacity. In addition to meeting growing demand for rigid PVC, rigid PVC alloys, and chlorinated PVC and enhancing lead times, the expansion reportedly will result in job creation.

In operation for more than 20 years, the Streetsboro location is the company’s largest facility. It is industry leading, according to CEO Darrell Hughes, incorporating sophisticated compounding assets and process controls. “Streetsboro is also the location of our rigid PVC technical center,” added Hughes. Aurora Material Solutions also operates compounding facilities in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas, Indiana, and Québec.

The company broke ground at the Ohio facility in August 2022 and said at the time that it expected to complete the project in the fourth quarter of 2023. The site began scale-up product trials for customers this May.

“The addition of Tower 3 is exciting, but we are also enthusiastic about other initiatives we’ve embraced this year to help support our mission,” said Hughes. In March, Aurora Plastics became Aurora Material Solutions, a name change that reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its scope and embracing a broader range of materials and solutions to help customers achieve their goals. It also unveiled the first brand statement in its 27-year history: People. Partners. Possibilities.
