Intertech Plastics has added presses, staff, and machine time, shifting to 24/7 operations in response to increased customer demand. The Denver-based custom injection molder and blowmolder recently took delivery of a 900-ton all-electric two-shot Cincinnati Milacron and 1000-ton hybrid Husky Hylectric.
Increasing its staff by 15% and shifting to 24/7 operations is very much an expression of confidence that the growth trend fueling the investments is expected to continue into 2011. The two new machines give Intertech 27 total, in addition to its large-part blow molding machine.
The new equipment is expected to create an additional $7 million of revenue annually, and continued expansion is expected, with plans already in place to also add two more 1000-ton high-speed presses in the near future.
The company's current stable of injection molding machines ranges from 25 to 1500 tons, with Arburgs, Toyos, Toshibas, and Van Dorns in house. Intertech Plastics also runs a Cincinnati Eclipse T2000 Series extrusion blowmolding machine.
Intertech Plastics was founded in 1980 and serves the consumer products, food packaging, military, medical, and construction markets from its 120,000-ft2 plant. The company was the subject of an Injection Molding Magazine Plant Tour feature in 2009.
