Judging from exhibitor bookings for next year’s K show, there may well be something to the premise that the worst of this recession is behind us. According to that show’s organizer, Messe Düsseldorf, it will again be a sellout with all 19 halls filled.
The application deadline for exhibitor registration came and went last month, and Messe Düsseldorf officials now say some 3000 exhibitors already have signed up to showcase their products from Oct. 27-Nov. 3, 2010 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Werner Dornscheidt, president and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, commented, “In times like these, when the global plastics and rubber industry is faced with a severe slump, the exhibiting companies’ loyalty to their leading trade fair means more than ever. We are all confident that, by October next year, the economy will have turned around and the market will once again take the stage at full strength and in all its diversity.” The K is the industry’s largest trade show, held every three years.
The exhibitors’ products will be complemented by the special presentation “Visions in Polymers,” which will present future-oriented aspects, development trends, and innovations in the industry. This special exhibit will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf and the German plastics industry, spearheaded by PlasticsEurope Deutschland, the trade group representing the country’s plastics industry.
