Nissei sets up second overseas production base in Thailand

Japanese machine builder Nissei Plastic Industrial (Nagano) has completed construction of a plant in Thailand for manufacturing injection presses. Full-scale operation is slated to commence in May, with output targeted at Thailand, elsewhere in Southeast Asia, and West Asia, as well as utilizing FTA (Free Trade Agreement) and EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement) to strategize global sales.

Nissei targets expanded Asian sales with new Thai plant.

The Thai production subsidiary will be Nissei's second overseas production outpost, joining the existing one in Taicang, China. The new Thailand production site is located in the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Rayong Province, 117 km southeast of Bangkok and 30 km east of Laem Chabang Port. Built-up area of 5130 m2 includes a production hall 4050 m2 in size.

Four midsize (110-360-ton clamping force) hybrid injection molding machines from the FNX Series will be produced at this facility, with the production target for the first year set at 120 units.

Previously, Nissei operations in Thailand comprised a representative office, which opened in 1971, and a sales subsidiary, Nissei Plastic (Thailand) Co. Ltd., which was established in 1994 in Bangkok. A technical center in Samut Prakan, located near the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, was opened in 2005 and has provided user support and reinforced sales.
