Polycase puts PC to the test

Polycase Inc. (Avon, OH) specializes in the design and molding of heavy-duty polycarbonate waterproof cases that protect the most sensitive electronic equipment from harsh environments. The WP, WC, and WA series enclosures are NEMA1, 2, 4, 4x, 12, and 13 rated, and designed to IP65 of IEC 529 for high-impact resistance and flame retardancy, giving them all the properties necessary for the most demanding applications. The HD, WP, WC, and WA series come in a wide range of sizes from 4.5 x 2.5 inches to 10.4  x 7.3 inches. The HD series was also designed to meet NEMA specifications. Additionally, the new series enclosures are listed to UL508-4x.

The enclosures all include silicone rubber gaskets, protecting the electronics equipment from water, ice, snow, and other adverse outdoor environmental conditions. Stainless steel cover screws resist corrosion and rust, ensuring long-lasting service for outdoor usage. The entire series is molded in flame-retardant, impact-resistant, UV-stabilized polycarbonate with a UL94-HB rating. Temperature ranges on the WA enclosures are 0ºC to 80ºC.

According to Teresa Bomba, marketing specialist for Polycase, the company can also produce custom enclosures with machined holes and printed graphics to specifications. Clare Goldsberry
