Now that the dust of NPE 2003 has settled, itâs time to take stock of what suppliers brought to Chicago for this triennial event. Youâre holding in your hands the IMM and PM&A NPE Showcase, a thorough report on the machinery, equipment, materials, and services introduced at the event.
This yearâs Showcase has been expanded to provide more comprehensive coverage of products at the show. In the past, as strictly a publication of IMM, the Showcase reported on only injection molding-related products. This year, with the help of sister publication Plastics Machinery & Auxiliaries, weâve added reports on extrusion, blowmolding, thermoforming, and other noninjection molding products for the readers of that magazine.
If you were not among the 63,000 attendees of NPE, this Showcase is your chance to find out what was at the show, ranging from molding machines and extruders to robots and material handling systems. If you were at the show, the Showcase will help you keep track of what you did see, and catch you up on what you may have missed.
Our coverage is organized by product type and includes primary processing machinery, automation equipment, tooling materials and equipment, auxiliaries, materials, software, controls, components, and supplies. All suppliers mentioned in the Showcase are identified in bold.
If you want more information from a particular supplier, we suggest two options:
1. Check the NPE exhibitor listings in your June 2003 issue of IMM (p. 129) or PM&A (p. 20).
2. Visit www.immalmanac.com and search the database of suppliers.
Finally, kudos go out to the IMM and PM&A editors who worked so hard to cover the show and produce the stories that follow. Special thanks go to Amie Chitwood, Tony Deligio, Clare Goldsberry, Jamie Graham, Heidi Hill, Kate Hunley, Carl Kirkland, Michelle Maniscalco, Robert Neilley, and Merle Snyder.
