W&H hits milestone with machine for interpack

April 28, 2011

At the giant interpack packaging show this month, packaging machinery manufacturer Windmoeller & Hoelscher will display a milestone machine, the 750th form/fill/seal unit from the company. The show line, which has been sold to Dutch logistics company Katoen Natie (KTN), will be the newest version of the established Topas F/F/S units in that it can move under "silos" so that goods to be packed are discharged (filled) directly into containers before sealing.

Thanks to its compact design, the Topas can be moved easily between one silo and another in order to packaging a wide range of bulk products.

The interpack show will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany from May 12-18. Visitors to W&H's booth (Hall 15, Stand C41 / D42) will see live demonstrations of the newest Topas model moving "under the silos", entering docking position, packing the contents discharged from the silos, then exiting the docking position. For converters it's clearly of interest, and for plastics processors it's a chance to see how their customers are using their sheet and film.

The Topas range has evolved so that now a system can produce more than 2400 bags/hr and can be used for all free-flowing bulk materials. Thanks to its versatility, performance and reliability, the TOPAS has become the most widely used FFS system in the world. W&H has sold more than 50 moveable units,.
